Back in the days of "Gone with the Wind" fainting seemed as common as wearing a corset. The truth is, fainting can signify some fairly serious health problems. So if you faint frequently, have a physician give you the once over to make sure there’s not an underlying medical condition. That said, there are times when we get weak in the knees, whether it’s the sight of blood, having not eaten that day, or some other trigger!
If you feel yourself getting light headed, the first thing to do is sit down with your head between your knees. This will help lower your center of gravity, and help re-balance your body
Just as in the movies, smelling salts work wonders! If you don’t have any though (and I don’t know anyone who does) sniff some black pepper and sneeze! The act of sneezing will usually equalize your body balance and keep you steady on your feet
Mint, rosemary, mistletoe and cayenne tea will help a person from fainting as well. Being in extremely hot weather can make a person feel nauseas and faint also. If this is the situation you find yourself in, go inside and get a big glass of ice water. This may help you feel better!
